Sweezy: Kyler Murray will back up Wilson comparisons

Request a scout, coach or participant to compare No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray to a NFL QB and one immediate answer normally comes back: Russell Wilson.
When it’s elusiveness, arm strength, deep-ball accuracy, baseball history or the apparent height contrast, Wilson is the most frequent name conjured for Murray. The hype is a whole lot to live up to thinking about Wilson’s success.

Murray matched the hype, according to mates, as we hit the summer weeks ahead of training camp.
“Everything that I heard, he’s lived up to,” shield Justin Pugh said. “And I have heard a lot of great things, so it’s been great up to now.”
Murray’s teammates commended him on everything out of his playbook acumen, fluidity in the pocket, rate, precision and leadership. All traits that Wilson boasted as a passer.
“He is cool, calm, collected, smooth,” Sweezy said of Murray. “Make a mistake, return, right it. He’s on it, honestly.”
It’s a fantastic indication that Murray’s teammates offer glowing testimonials of the rookie quarterback. Opposite or tentative assessments would portend trouble for a rebuilding franchise that chucked one first-round QB to take a swing on Murray.
