Centre Henry Slade maintains his bond using midfield partner Manu Tuilagi can shoot England.
Slade is fit to begin if selected against Tonga in the Sapporo Dome on Sunday, with coach Eddie Jones due to announce his group.
“Manu is indeed good to play – how we could use him to have is within the gain-line or to conduct decoy lines is a massive weapon,” Slade said.
“It gives me a great deal of time to perform from the trunk of that and elsewhere.”
He added:”We now have very different strengths and very different weaknesses, and that I think we complement each other and cover up each other’s weaknesses.”
Jones utilized Slade and Tuilagi jointly during the Six Nations outside Owen Farrell at fly-half, having favored to use George Ford in 10 and Farrell at inside-centre.
And Slade says just how much the two enjoy the company of each other off the pitch has promoted his on-field understanding with the Tuilagi.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live:”We’ve always got on really well ever since we’ve known each other.
“We were in camps together for a couple years but not really regularly – he was always fit when I had been hurt or I had been fit and he was injured.
“But we have always got on. I went on holiday to Dubai – I had been out there with Jack Nowell and Ellis Genge, therefore we have a couple of days with him and Manu was out there with his wife and kid.
“I feel like I get on quite well with himand that bond off the pitch does play a big role on it.
“It can take time learning to play with each other, but now he and I’ve been able to pick it up pretty quick.
“Manu’s in quite good form. He’s got through the whole of the pre-season, which has been excellent, although tough, a real grind.
“He looks like he’s hungry to do well. I am eager to find out what he does.”
England travelled north from Miyazaki from the north west on Wednesday, conditions in the far north 12 degrees cooler than they had been in the island of Kyushu, the fresh weather birth a great deal reminiscent of fall back home.
While Mako Vunipola and Jack Nowell are still on track to get a return from injury later from the group phase, short-term injury doubts back-row forward Mark Wilson along with winger Joe Cokanasiga have returned to fuller coaching.
Coach Eddie Jones has kept the gamers for Sunday, the short turnaround from the dark concerning his selection plans before England’s second match against the USA suggesting he’ll look at his options before the stiffer tests of France and Argentina.
Slade stated:”You can never really tell with Eddie. We love to try various combinations and we have so many players, especially in midfield.
“What is great about our midfield choices is that everyone’s got different strengths, so all of the coaches want to go with, they have got an option to pick.
“All we can continue to spurring each other on as players, forcing each other to keep advancing.”
Slade was a routine along with Tuilagi during England’s Six Nations campaign earlier this year, scoring his global campaign in the 32-20 win over Ireland .
He touched again against France a week later, that burgeoning facility partnership among the highlights to England at a effort that then decelerated from that draw against Scotland and Wales at Cardiff.
A knee injury kept the from all four of England’s warm-up matches for this World Cup, but he is ready to reignite that midfield mix, after coaching since arriving in Japan.
He explained:”The knee’s good – I have had a few weeks now to rehabilitation and get it improved.
“I am feeling more and more convinced each day, and I get the chance to check it out in the weekend.
“Originally I was worried. You don’t know until you receive your results back, what it may be again. It might have been a whole lot worse, so it was a gigantic relief.”
Four years ago Slade turned into a last-minute bolter to Stuart Lancaster’s squad, impressing against France when England had gone out.
“Last World Cup that I was simply over the moon to be chosen,” he explained.
“I had no expectations going in that camp, but that time I’ve had rather a lot of superior game-time, and also feel a true part of the squad.
“I have had a massive drive in the past World Cup to wanting to play with a lot bigger role in such a one.
“I feel as though the last Six Nations was a real step in the perfect way for me. Before that not having played as well as I might have for 19, I was disappointed.
“Hopefully when I get the chance I can keep progressing.”
