The 100th NFL regular season opens on Thursday, Sept. 5, If the Green Bay Packers travel to Chicago to face the Bears.

With less than a week New Jersey sportsbooks are currently gearing up for a huge season of NFL football.
After all, even while 2018 was the football many books were simply temporary distances. It was not until later in 2018 and 2019 the 10 sportsbooks upgraded to their facilities. Borgata, for the part, created a completely different space.
I have been reviewing every NJ sportsbook ahead of opening day. Today’s focus is Book & Borgata’s Moneyline Bar.
Address: 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
The Borgata home is still a relative newcomer in 2003, starting to the Atlantic City landscape. Now under possession by MGM, Borgata is just one of three Atlantic City casinos situated in the Marina District.
From a betting perspective, Borgata is unique since they are the only Atlantic City casino offering wagering on horse racing, using a wonderful 100-seat theatre for simulcast horse. Together with their horse racing game infrastructure set up, it was not surprising that Borgata was the very Atlantic City casino to offer sports gambling on-site at their house last summer.
Borgata online casino launched its own NJ sports gambling app in May of this year, and the brand new Moneyline sportsbook was opened by the casino.
Moneyline Bar & Book opened June 29 and can be situated directly adjacent to the horse racing simulcast center (which nonetheless offers sports bets). With MGM as the parent firm of Borgata, they know how to deliver first-class entertainment properties. At an estimated price of $12 million, Moneyline is a distance that is striking.
The book is large so you will have tons of space around the bar or at the table. The very best way to describe the feel of this Moneyline is”ultra-high-end sports bar.”
It’s a huge distance (8,000 square feet, next only to Bally’s Atlantic City sportsbook) dominated by a visually stunning 40-foot wide by 11.5-foot high LED video walls. There are 17 TV screens, and they are all large format and supply viewing choices. There’s also room available for the shuffleboard and foosball table if you will need to kill a while before your football match kicks off.
In addition to the bar region which offers a wide choice of craft beers and drinks, there’s also a food menu with plenty of sandwich and appetizer options.
However, I see some drawbacks into the layout of the Moneyline.
For one, the lighting is kept low. If you are watching a game, while it’s good, it is a challenge when you are reading a menu or scouring game information. Nevertheless, the significant issue for me is exactly that which I call the”form and function” of the Moneyline. Its form, as mentioned, is top shelf. It will have some challenges because a sportsbook.
One of the many fantastic things about a sportsbook is your ability to drop in, make your stakes, and discover a seat to see the game(s) whether it is for 10 minutes or 2 hours. At Moneyline, the capacity to have a chair of one is tied to a reservation for couch or a desk.
Should you snag an unreserved chair, it’s at a desk and you likely will probably be asked what you would like to order eat or to drink. I suppose being in a sportsbook to watch some games isn’t sufficient.
My point-of-view: There’s a sense that you have to step up on a drink or food order. Point is, despite the fact that there is seemingly plenty of room to do so, there aren’t any”unattached” seats in the Borgata sportsbook.
If you are not carrying a jitney or a business to Moneyline, the self-parking fees are a veritable bargain at $5.
Moneyline has an”in-the-round” design with a huge bar at the middle of all the action.
If you can not find enough sports betting action, the 35-foot-long pub also has gaming terminals. There are a number of terrific luxury rolls with 10 high-top tables using self-charging stations and five sofa stalls that are luxurious. There is also a VIP lounge area with additional seating.
There are six reside teller terminals at Moneyline. As a point of caution, in Borgata’s horse racing simulcast centre (the Race & Sports Book) there are sports gaming chairs. But it is sports betting only; no more horse gambling options.
RATING: 4 stars
Borgata has two self-service terminals.
RATING: 3.5 stars
The bet at the teller window that is dwell is $5, which beyond this William Hill NJ possessions, is that the live teller minimal at AC sportsbooks. While a few other locations have kiosks gambling minimums, that is not an option here as the kiosks also have a $5 minimum.
RATING: 2.5 stars
Even the 35-foot top video wall is really a brilliant screen, using a certain”WOW” factor.
As mentioned, all of the other TV screens in the publication are also in a big format, so it is certainly a”quality over quantity” approach into the TV display d??cor of the Moneyline.
This certainly works if a match that you wish to see is on one of the screens, but if you’re searching for something other than Eagles, Jets, and Giants at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, there could be a few challenges.
RATING: 5 stars
With a”fire marshal” maximum total capacity of 444, however by my estimate there are no more than 100 chairs in the publication.
There are not any seats out there, as stated. The chairs that do exist are in the bar or part of table seats and (in my opinion) inherently tied to a beverage and/or food order. I would certainly add more seats.
RATING: 2.5 stars
The flip side of limited”unattached” chairs is the access to reserved tables.
While many sportsbooks offer limited to no reserved seating options (unless you are a VIP), Moneyline sportsbook in the Borgata allows tables to be reserved in advance. Currently, Moneyline is supplying Fantasy Football draft celebration packages for a minimum of eight individuals beginning at $59 per person.
RATING: 5 stars
There is an extensive food and beverage menu at the Moneyline as stated. This is an update from schlepping it back to your own desk and grabbing a piece of pizza or hot dog out of the casino food court.
This is a temporary intersection of”Sports Bar” meets”Restaurant” matches”Sportsbook” menu. As you would expect, it is higher-end and can be higher-priced. That is not just a soft pretzel in the menu; it’s a”Giant Bavarian Pretzel followed closely by Stone Ground Mustard.”
RATING: 4.5 stars
The Borgata sportsbook has a reasonable quantity of betting staff. Most the Moneyline employees buzzing about the book are wait and hospitality staff moving to and from servicing the tables.
On my time visit’s afternoon, there were some daily line and prospective price sheets available. It had been fine, but nothing notable.
RATING: 3.5 stars
Borgata is among three casinos located in the marina. Atlantic City does provide a jitney shuttle service that’s relatively cheap ($ two ) and will get you to another Marina District casinos (Harrah’s, Golden Nugget) and all the other Boardwalk spots.
The prices for Borgata are 5, which can be a bargain in comparison to Atlantic City casinos, if you are not riding the AC jitneys.
RATING: 4.5 stars
Borgata has casino gaming activity as well as restaurants, clubs, and a spa situated.
There are no casino options within walking distance, when you’re at Borgata as is true for Harrah’s and Golden Nugget. However there are plenty of activities here in the Borgata to keep you occupied.
RATING: 4 stars
As a part of each sportsbook trip, I’m placing a football-related wager for the season that is upcoming 2019.
Borgata has posted players futures for individual season leaders at receiving and rushing yards. I left a wager on Leveon Bell to play with 2019 to prove after sitting out last year priced at 14-1 in rushing to direct the NFL:
Sportsbook in Borgata is worth checking out. Sunday it’s top-shelf d??cor, big TV screens plus a variety of food and drink choices set it upon the definitive short-list of AC sportsbooks to set up shop on a school football Saturday or NFL.
Albeit a restaurant that’s a part sportsbook on-site moneyline feels just like a restaurant first. If that is for, then it’s an ideal place.
It’s certainly not sportsbook”standard-fare” design that might contain heaps of unencumbered seats and 50-plus TV displays. MGM has taken a different and unique approach using their $12M sportsbook investment in the Borgata. That is OK, although it simply may not be for everybody’s appetite.
If you would like to acquire elbow-to-elbow with a crew head next door to the Borgata racing novel and you will have a lot of chances to mix up it.
