Marcus Edwards, that was compared to Lionel Messi by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, seems set to join with an unnamed Portuguese club.
In which he made 25 appearances for Excelsior, the midfielder had a loan stint in the Netherlands last year.
He also had a loan spell at Norwich at the start of this past year, but just made one Championship appearance for the side of Daniel Farke.
Even the 20-year-old is under contract in Tottenham and has been the top scorer at the U19 UEFA Youth League at 2017/18 with four goals in six starts through the group phase.
He scored a further five goals from nine Premier League 2 appearances.
Edwards has represented England at U18, U17, U16, U19 and U20 levels – winning the European U19 Championship together using the Young Lions in Georgia in 2017.
