Jonathan Trott combined Bob Willis and Charles Colvile to explore a mixed day for England as Burns’ and captain Joe Root’s 141-run third-wicket stand was brought to an end during the night session since Josh Hazlewood picked up 3-18 in a searing six finished spell to depart the hosts 98 runs short of their follow-on goal with five wickets spare.
Bob was impressed by opener Burns’ temperament and capacity to concentrate from the centre for long intervals, while former England batsman Trott believes the batsman has improved with had time to bat against the red globe.
