Birmingham City have been fined #42,500 for an incident that found a spectator run onto the pitch and attack Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish in March.
For assaulting Aston Villa midfielder Grealish during the Second City derby on March 28, paul Mitchell of Rubery was sentenced.
Mitchell entered the field of play and struck Grealish around the rear of the head and neck while his back was turned.
He was dragged off the pitch after being accepted to stewards who followed closely on to the pitch, in addition to the ground by a blend of Birmingham along with Villa players.
The FA said in a statement:”The club filed it used all due diligence but was found to have neglected to make certain that its own spectator[s], and all persons purporting to be its supporters or followers, conducted themselves in an organized fashion or refrained from improper and/or violent behavior and/or refrained from encroaching on the pitch region during the EFL Championship fixture from Aston Villa on 10 March 2019.”
