Neil Harris has resigned as Millwall manager.
His final game in charge was the 1-1 draw away to Luton on Wednesday night.
Harris was the longest serving permanent supervisor having taken over at Millwall in March 2015 following spells as caretaker boss.
Even the 42-year-old became the Lions all time top goalscorer in two spells with the team scoring 125 aim, as a player.
He guided them to two FA Cup quarter-finals and some promotion while.
Harris also helped establish Millwall as a Championship side and leaves the south London club 18th at the table.
Their last league success came Wednesday.
Adam Barrett has been placed in charge of the team and will direct them in Saturdays match against Leeds.
Millwall chairman John Berylson paid tribute to Harris in an announcement on the official site of the club.
Firstly I would love to place on record my sincere gratitude to Neil for all his hard work, commitment, determination and inarguable success as director of the great football team, Berylson stated.
Throughout his time in charge we have achieved so much and so lots of his best moments as boss could live long in the memory of all Millwall fans fortunate to have seen and loved them.
Neils accomplishments ensure he is recorded alongside a number of the clubs greatest-ever managers, furthering his mythical standing in Millwall.
Alongside his training team, Neil worked tirelessly to establish a culture both on and off the pitch that was befitting of their clubs heritage and history and this has definitely been achieved.
He has set tremendous foundations where the club may continue to build on in the years and years ahead.
Neils name is synonymous with Millwall and he has always had the absolute best interests of the team in mind, handling with good pride, honour and integrity, and he awakens with all the best wishes of everybody linked with The Lions.
Both Neil and David leave with their heads held high, indefinitely friends of the club, and I want them both every success in their future professions. They will always be welcome in The Den.
