Anthony Joshua has said”sometimes the people who are calm and chilled can bark” about the laidback Andy Ruiz Jr, who he rates as”the greatest heavyweight out there”.
Joshua and Ruiz Jr went face to face in London because their press tour reasoned, meaning prep may ramp up ahead of their December 7 rematch in Saudi Arabia, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Asked about being a challenger to the entire world heavyweight championships, Joshua said:”It’s a terrific mindset to own and you can not lose that. The minute you have got to retire. You have got to be hungry.
“I had a blip. We proceed again. I’m not bashful. No fear.”
Joshua said about his upcoming opponent who took his own IBF, WBA and WBO belts before this season:”Ruiz Jr is composed but he could battle. He’s not.
“Occasionally the individuals who are calm and chilled may bark back, and can definitely combat ”
When he tried to complete off Ruiz Jr having knocked him down, only to undergo a punch that amuses the beginning of the 37, he set his stoppage defeat down to the moment.
“There is not any need to rush,” Joshua explained about how he will approach the rematch. “Until the beef is 100 percent cooked, do not take it from the oven. I went to take it out of the oven and I got burned. I have to wait till it is ready then choose the kill. In the fight, he was not ready and that was an error on my part.
“I shall get the titles back and be admired as the best earners at the division.”
His own willingness to resist the contenders in a thinly-veiled dig was earlier pointed into by joshua.
“Wladimir Klitschko? Champion. Joseph Parker? Champion. Alexander Povetkin? Champion,” he said. “Now I’m fighting another winner in Andy Ruiz.
“My challenges and my fights are not cherry-picking. They are the elite of the elite.
“Today, in my opinion, Andy Ruiz is your greatest heavyweight on the market.
“Everybody knows it was important to overlook fighters because we wanted the fight with the WBC champion [Deontay Wilder]. However, I don’t have to overlook Ruiz Jr..
“I’ll walk into the ringprobably jog into the ring this time, crack my neck and clench my fists, and when that bell goes we are going to get down and dirty and handle company.”
Ruiz Jr stated:”I still have that appetite. I got these belts. You think I wish to lose them? Hell no.
“I seem heavy, I look big, but I always had the mindset that I would be the first Mexican heavyweight champion.”
Ruiz Jr was likened to Mexican legends by his trainer Manny Robles:”I compared Andy into Julio Cesar Chavez, Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales stylistically. You do not fight with fighters that may fight with that way, such as Andy does.
“Andy was the best style to give Joshua a wonderful fight.
“Joshua had never confronted anyone like Andy. Most of you agree with me.
“Most fighters become better when they taste conquer. You win or you learn. I am sure Joshua will find out.
“What exactly does he have to lose? He doesn’t need to be worried about that document. Before facing Joshua andy had tasted overcome and that he knew what that felt like. He also discovered and became a much better fighter. He had nothing more to lose and everything to win”
