Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings states it’d be a”fitting narrative” if he left his England debut in St Mary’s after he was released by Southampton as an adolescent.
Week 26, mings, was called up into the England squad for the first time by director Gareth Southgate.
England and Euro 2020 qualifiers from Bulgaria at Wembley on Saturday and Kosovo play in St Mary’s on Tuesday.
“I have thought about it,” Mings told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“There isn’t a lot I haven’t thought of in relation to what could and could not occur. I don’t hold any grudges within Southampton. I don’t hold any grudges within the decisions because if I’m completely honest they were likely justified at the moment they left.
“I was not quite large enough, I wasn’t very physically developed enough to possibly deal with the demands of this match. It’ll be a fitting narrative if I made my debut at St Mary’s and arrived full circle.”
Mings included:”I really don’t think it would feel much more or less special doing it in St Mary’s than it would anywhere else.”
After registering from Bournemouth for # 20m in the 25, the centre-back has launched all of Aston Villa’s Premier League games this season.
